Mickey G. Is an amazing country singer. She is the first African American woman to sing country music on a large platform. Her voice tells the painful truth of being Black in Amerikkka. Her songs are thought provoking and present to what is going on in today’s society 💯 I just wish that those who choose to be haters will wake up.

I don’t understand why CMT is pushing her so much aside from her skin color and being female. She is definitely not as good as other female country singers out there. Good voice but nothing stands out. They push her pretty hard but I don’t see her charting or winning any awards unless voted by the associations. Now Jimmie Allen he is someone to look out for!

Quit talking about racism and it’ll go away. You create it to play victim. Nobody cares 🙄

Really wonderful and full sound. Classic, new country, with a unique strength to her voice. Lone star State twang but still her own sound. Wonderful tracks. “Higher” gives an almost praise/gospel vibe but with country. The strength of this album shows this artists growth from her first EP, but still sends “hit repeat” vibes found on her earlier stuff like “Forever Love,” “Pretty Little Mustang” and “Why Baby, Why.” If you enjoy songs that resonate with your day/life, good or bad, and love dancing slow with your boo in the kitchen after dinner like I do, “Dancing In The Living Room” is a must. I grew up in country music and it is forever my go-to. From Dolly to George, Sugarland to Jasen. This album is one I’m happy to add to my collection. If you can wade through the mess of bogus reviews from people unable to remember that music has always been used to call attention to what’s going on in the world, you won’t be disappointed with this purchase or listen. Do yourself a favor and throw on “Do You Really Wanna Know,” after work, then enjoy the whole album. 10/10 would recommend.

Mickey Guyton is easily one of the most incredible voices to hit the country music scene. This album is her story and her experience. May we all open our hearts, learn from one another, and grow together. Thank you for putting this stunning album out into the world. Easily one of my favorites voices to hear and on repeat 💚💚

Her voice really shines on this. While there are those songs that make you think there are also songs that are fun, happy and inspiring. A breath of fresh air.
