This is the best one. No doubt. Delivers on everything you could ever want out of any Trivium album, or metal album in general. Trivium have done it again!

Trivium continue their winning streak of albums since 2017 and In the Court of the Dragon is absolute proof of that! They’ve remained consistent in their sound while always adding little subtleties here and there. This album is a little more on the heavier side, but is still just as melodic and epic as ever, with many orchestral sections (courtesy of Ihsahn) adding a lot to the record. All of the members are on their A-game technically and the songwriting continues to get better and better. Favorite tracks: Like a Sword Over Damocles, The Shadow of the Abattoir and Fall Into Your Hands
  • Their best since Shogun

In the Court of the Dragon is nothing short of sensational: only slightly more than a year removed from their last outing, Trivium up the intensity and never let go on this record. Though it may seem same-y at times due to similar song structures, this album is full of what we want: catchy choruses, Matt’s harsh vocals, pummeling bass and riffs, and percussive precision. It’s, in my estimation, their best since Shogun.
  • Shogun-level epicness

Easily a top 3 album for this band, If not their best. The fact that you can actually compare it to Shogun and Ascendency speaks volumes for the quality and cohesiveness of this album, as well as the band. Trivium have been unstoppable since 2017 when they got Alex as their drummer, and they aren’t slowing down anytime soon
